The Blackbird

A constant in the garden, warning me of cats, magpies, gusts of wind, encroaching sparrows, postmen, delivery drivers – yes it will sound that alarm call at anything!

I don’t often get photos of the male bird in our garden as the female is usually the busier of the two, but here he is in all his glory in the Hellebore bed.

  1. In which case it may have a problem round here, my neighbour informs me that we have about 13 crows and roughly the same amount of Magpies massing in the nature reserve to the side of us . As yet the crows haven’t started the violent territorial behavior that we saw last year and we aren’t getting a daily crow visit ( which we did have last year)
