Bird Numbers and Wood Pigeons

9th March

The return of the Goldfinch and Siskin, but as of yet no Woodpecker today nor Starlings. However someone was hogging the feeders preventing the Long Tailed Tits and Siskin getting on. It does appear as if the Wood Pigeon is having a land somewhere stupid day today, must be the gusting winds.

The Robin is certainly making a home in the back fir hedge and the Blue Tit has claimed the front nest box.

I am wondering if this is the same scruffy Blue Tit ( we named it Manky) as last year and the previous year , or is this the off spring and the condition is genetic. It hops around, flies and feeds and seems to have no ill effects.
